Spend the Day at St. Michaels Pointe

This historic seaport town sits along the banks of the Miles River and is home to two of our custom design/build communities, San Domingo Cove and St. Michaels Pointe. The drive into town sets the tone for the trip. Cobblestone walkways welcome you, framing a variety of charming shops and restaurants. The old town architecture will take you back to a different time and era. You’ll hear many stories dating back to the late 1700’s when this bustling town was once home to a busy shipbuilding business. Visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum or The Museum at St. Mary’s Square for detailed stories and a walking tour.

Watermen will delight with all the harbor has to offer. Boating, fishing, and paddle boarding are just a few of the activities that await you. Enjoy an hour on the water or indulge in an all-day cruise as the beauty of the Eastern Shore never gets old. Alongside the marina are a few of the towns’ restaurants. The Crab Claw, overlooking the harbor, is a St. Michaels landmark. Your trip won’t be complete without feasting to your heart's content on a few of their steamed crabs or other Old Bay delights. Jump over to Foxy’s to enjoy a lively, “waterfront” atmosphere with music and tiki drinks until the sun goes down.

Rent a bike or walk into town where the streets are lined with shops of all kinds. You’ll find jewelry, home décor and gifts to remember your trip. There’s fine dining, casual fare and of course a few late night spots. Stop in and try Ava’s, which has been voted the best pizza in the area. For something different, enjoy a few hometown favorites with a tasting at the St. Michaels Winery or sample Rum and Whiskey at our own Lyon Distilling Company.

If you plan it right, you can take in one of the town's yearly festivals. In April the town welcomes Spring with an annual Daffodil Festival, a beautiful and breath-taking event with thousands of blooming daffodils in town. The Winefest at St. Michaels will cap out the month bringing 2,500 visitors from all over the Eastern Shore. Before heading home, be sure to visit the two PAQUIN Design / Build communities. At the far end of town is St. Michaels Pointe where you’ll be close enough to park the car and spend most of your days on foot.
